Wyoming was fun!
As I write this, it's 2:25 local time here in Nebraska and this post is late. Why? Twelve hours of driving!
After our adventurous evening in Montana, and the late night dinner, we headed to our overnight place which fortunately wasn't far away. Right there in Bozeman, Montana is a place called Rockhaven Summer Camp. It's managed by Scott Thrasher, a fellow performer who I've known for many years. Scott kindly offered that we could stay (something you DO NOT pass up on a trip like this) and it was wonderful. However, that had us waking up still in Bozeman, with a 5 hour drive ahead of us to make it to our show in Story, Wyoming.
If you've never been through Wyoming, it's a beautiful state. We've been navigating using Google Maps (as well as the old trustworthy Rand McNally for backup) and so far, so good, but when Google was telling us that we were there, the landscape was hilly and open, not forest land like the photos I'd seen of our venue. It turns out that something about this area really confuses Google. We continued on and found our place (about 12 miles later). The show was held at Camp Story, a really neat summer camp.

This is a stream that runs right through the grounds. Wouldn't it be awesome to have this kind of scenery in your own back yard?
Faith helped Eli dip his toes in the water. He liked it!
This is the staff at Camp Story. They helped us load in and load out and truly made the whole process so much easier. Our show went great!
Having already driven five hours in the morning, we packed up and hit the road at 9:30 PM for another seven hours to get to Alliance, Nebraska. Our show isn't until 7 PM but the church (Alliance Berean) is doing Vacation Bible School this week and we wanted to do a "teaser" this morning for the big show tonight. Plus, the church kindly reserved two hotel rooms for us here in town last night. We finally rolled into town at 4:30 AM and got a couple hours sleep before heading over to the church for the miniature preview show. That went very well; we're hoping for a huge turnout tonight!
So, that's why this post is late today. A little sleep is better than none!
We have a couple of free hours before we have to be back to set up the big show. That works nicely because our vehicle is already due for an oil change and we have to take care of some things at the local KMart. Nebraska has been great so far. Now we just have to do a show and then head to Rapid City, South Dakota where we'll be staying tonight (only a 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive- much better!).
We're having a blast so far!
