How did we pull that off? Well, after yesterday's show in Minnesota, we headed on into Waterloo, Iowa, and got a hotel for the night, as usual. But, instead of hitting the road after the show, we're staying here another night because the drive to Wisconsin isn't too long. Tomorrow we'll be at a church festival in Stoughton, Wisconsin.
Today began with us all sleeping until 11:30. We've got some catching up to do and haven't slept more than a few hours in one night for what seems like ages!
Everyone was excited because now that we're approaching the East, we found that there's actually a Chipotle nearby! Our family has differing tastes for their favorite foods, but I think Chipotle is the one place we all agree is amazing. I say often that if I had a million dollars to invest, it would be a no-brainer for me. I would open a Chipotle. There is ALWAYS a line going out the door!
We had some time before we had to head to the venue, so the kids went swimming while I worked on figuring out the rigging for a new banner we'll be displaying on the side of the trailer at every show.
When it was time to get to the venue, we saw a neat thing. Here's a nighttime picture:
The evening's show was VERY well organized by the church, thanks to Pat and Dan, two folks who did an amazing job of setting everything up in preparation for our arrival. This meant that the church was full!
We went back to the hotel and the kids wanted to swim a bit more before the pool closed at 11 PM. I didn't like that I had to miss it this afternoon, so I went with them this time. I know from watching the kids grow that there's precious little time when they are this age, so I don't want to miss anything. We had an interesting incident at the pool, though- look at this photo:
So, tomorrow it's on to Stoughton, Wisconsin. Eleven shows down, 39 to go!
