Another first on this tour- We actually got to stay in the same place for TWO NIGHTS!  That meant sleeping in this morning and no crazy driving today!

How did we pull that off?  Well, after yesterday's show in Minnesota, we headed on into Waterloo, Iowa, and got a hotel for the night, as usual.  But, instead of hitting the road after the show, we're staying here another night because the drive to Wisconsin isn't too long.  Tomorrow we'll be at a church festival in Stoughton, Wisconsin.

Today began with us all sleeping until 11:30.  We've got some catching up to do and haven't slept more than a few hours in one night for what seems like ages!

Everyone was excited because now that we're approaching the East, we found that there's actually a Chipotle nearby!  Our family has differing tastes for their favorite foods, but I think Chipotle is the one place we all agree is amazing.  I say often that if I had a million dollars to invest, it would be a no-brainer for me.  I would open a Chipotle.  There is ALWAYS a line going out the door!

We had some time before we had to head to the venue, so the kids went swimming while I worked on figuring out the rigging for a new banner we'll be displaying on the side of the trailer at every show.

When it was time to get to the venue, we saw a neat thing.  Here's a nighttime picture:

It's hard to see, but look at the steeple on the church next to that massive cross in order to get an idea of just how huge the cross is.  River's Edge church tells folks to look for the giant cross- and they mean it!  What's really incredible though is what one of the members told me.  That cross is actually a cell tower!  The city wanted to put a tower there, so the church said OK, but it has to look like a cross.  Brilliant!

The evening's show was VERY well organized by the church, thanks to Pat and Dan, two folks who did an amazing job of setting everything up in preparation for our arrival.  This meant that the church was full!

Also impressive was the fact that the Pastor, Tim, was in attendance tonight after having some very serious heart surgery.  We had a great time and the folks were lots of fun!

We went back to the hotel and the kids wanted to swim a bit more before the pool closed at 11 PM.  I didn't like that I had to miss it this afternoon, so I went with them this time.  I know from watching the kids grow that there's precious little time when they are this age, so I don't want to miss anything.  We had an interesting incident at the pool, though- look at this photo:

See that blur about to hit the water?  That's Faith.  The plan was to get a photo of her in mid-air as she jumped in.  She got a running start, but at the last second, she SERIOUSLY slipped on a wet edge of the pool and her foot went in the air as she narrowly missed smacking the concrete edge of the pool at full speed with her back.  That could have been really ugly!

So, tomorrow it's on to Stoughton, Wisconsin.  Eleven shows down, 39 to go!
